Donald Trump supporter electrifies campaign signs to thwart vandals
Ray Gilbride is hoping to deter thieves and vandals by giving them a small shock. BELLINGHAM, Washington -- Ray Gilbride had seen his yard signs supporting GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump become the subject of thieves and vandals a few too many times. Now he's taking charge. Gilbride has hooked up a 1.5-joule electric fence to the signs in his front yard in this Washington town that tends to lean left, politically. So now anyone thinking about taking his signs is in for a bit of a jolt. "It'll light you up a little bit," Gilbride tells "Especially if you're standing in wet grass." Gilbride tells that he decided to take the action because seven signs had been taken or vandalized in the past four months.  He's already had one victim, a woman who received a shock while trying to take the sign in the middle of the night. A surveillance camera recorded the incident, he said. However, the shock only temporarily deterred the woman, who still managed to rip up the signs and run down the street, Gilbride tells "Earlier in the year I started putting up signs," Gilbride tells "Some like it, some don't, but it's freedom of speech, right? ... "If someone comes on my property and steals stuff, its theft and it's not right." Police say Gilbride's actions do not break the law as long as no one is injured.

Cleveland man fired shots at a woman and her daughter, police say.
A Cleveland man is accused of shooting at a woman and her daughter outside a home in the city's Glenville neighborhood. CLEVELAND, Ohio -- A Cleveland man is accused of shooting at a woman and her daughter after a dispute on the city's East Side. Vraimone Parker, 24, is charged with felonious assault in the Feb. 16 incident on East 113th Street near Superior Avenue in the city's Glenville neighborhood. The victims, a 51-year-old woman and her 28-year-old daughter, went to the home about 3 a.m. to confront a person with whom the daughter was fighting, according to a Cleveland police report. Another man, who the mother identified as Parker's brother, stuck his head out of a window and pulled out a gun, the report says. The trio exchanged words before the man ordered the women off his property. Several people gathered behind the man, and the mother told police that she heard the man order someone else to put their gun away, the report says. Parker opened fire as the women retreated to their car and drove away, court documents say. Two others were in the vehicle at the time. Parker ran away after the shooting, the report says. Police later found six spent bullets at the scene. No one was injured in the shooting, the report says. A warrant for Parker was issued Wednesday, but he is not in custody.
