After convention stumble, Melania Trump vanishes from the campaign
It was late July when voters last heard from the potential first lady of the United States. Melania Trump delivered her speech at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland and then later stood with her husband, balloons dropping, waving to the crowd in what is starting to feel like a premature farewell to the campaign trail.

On 'Timeless', Lindbergh is shot down, Hemingway drinks, and a Lost Generation is found
'Timeless' heads to the 1920s. Ernest Hemingway, Charles Lindbergh, Josephine Baker and the Lost Generation all converge in the time-travel drama. CLEVELAND, Ohio - We open this episode of NBC's "Timeless" with Lucy and her Rittenhouse father chatting, and dad admonishes daughter: "Rittenhouse isn't a choice, it's blood - yours, mine." Lucy isn't happy. She, Rufus and Dave - Wyatt's replacement - head back into the time machine. Wyatt is under a de-facto house arrest because of last week's rogue escapades. The crew heads back to the day Charles Lindbergh lands in Paris. Flynn shoots at the tail of the Spirit of St. Louis to make him crash without killing him. The crew lands in a Parisian bar. Picasso, Ernest Hemingway, Zelda Fitzgerald and Josephine Baker all share drinks: Yeah, that's a nice thought. A shootout with Flynn's crew - because there's always a shootout - kills Dave Baumgartner, Wyatt's replacement. Flynn says if Lucy can convince Lindbergh there's a better way for the future, he will spare him. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Agent Christopher is removed from duty. Lines of the show * "When you're inside, you'll see the good we do." - Dad to Lucy about Rittenhouse. * "Boy that story took a dark turn." - Rufus after Lucy explains Lindbergh's life turning from aviation pioneer to Nazi sympathizer. * "She's the biggest entertainer in the country at the moment. Think Beyonce 1927. She basically owns Paris. And she became an an undercover spy for the Allies in World War II. She's just remarkable." - Lucy to the newbie Dave about who Baker is. * "Don't be too awestruck. Picasso's all hands." - Baker to Lucy. * "Takeovers don't have to be hostile." - Wyatt to Agent Christopher. * "I smell adventure." - Hemingway. * "You're not dead yet so drink and fight and screw for everyone who can't." Rufus and Hemingway. Commentary This one was for the theatrics and drama and color of having Ernest Hemingway as a character in the crew's travels. He and Rufus have a great diatribe about war and feeling alive. As an English major, it's nice to see Hemingway get a little pop-culture time. Historic touchstones Hemingway was a reporter for the Toronto Star. In the show, he covers Lindbergh's crash. Paris was one of several abodes for the American writer. ... In 1927, Baker earned more than any entertainer in Europe. REMINDERS Cast: Abigail Spencer (Lucy Preston), Matt Lanter (Wyatt Logan), Goran Visnjic (Garcia Flynn), Malcolm Barrett (Rufus Carlin), Patterson Joseph (Connor Mason), Sakina Jaffrey (Denise Christopher). When it's on: 10 p.m. Mondays, NBC. Next week: Public Enemy No. 1 - Al Capone.
