Fall TV preview 2016: 6 worst new network shows
"Conviction" and "Pure Genius" sink to the bottom of the prime-time barrel this fall. CLEVELAND, Ohio - Each season provides no shortage of candidates for spots at the bottom of the prime-time barrel. In no particular order, here are the rank rookies of the fall season. These are the noxious, hold-your-nose, avoid-at-all-costs, call-the-EPA stinkers: "Notorious" (ABC): "Ludicrous" would be a better title for this witless drama based on the lives of cable news producer Wendy Walker and lawyer Mark Geragos. "Pure Genius" (CBS): For a show about super-smart doctors at a super-smart medical facility, it's pretty dumb . . . and smug . . . and stilted. "Timeless" (NBC): The producers might wish they could travel back in time and start with building material sturdier than cardboard. "Man With a Plan" (CBS): The likable Matt LeBlanc is the man stuck in a thoroughly unlikable comedy. "The Great Indoors" (CBS): Where stale jokes meet stereotypes. "Conviction" (ABC): The insipid drama about a former first daughter may be in last place in terms of quality this fall.
