The wainscoting, the drapes from a different era, the dark wood floors – even the old man in the plaid shirt, pipe in hand, in front of the old pot-bellied stove.Another town meeting season ends today, and I know the pot-bellied...

Documentary 'Peter and the Farm' gives an existential tilt to man and nature
Tony Stone’s gripping documentary “Peter and the Farm” has a title suggestive of a fable full of moos and oinks, when the vision is instead one of pastoral agony, and the sounds are of an old man bleating against the universe. Crusty iconoclast Peter Dunning, a Santa-bearded ex-Marine and child...

It's the Autumn Equinox, and we're going to reach 84 degrees
This year we are 15 percent warmer than the average high temperature on the Autumn Equinox in Cleveland. CLEVELAND, Ohio - It's the first day of astronomical Fall (as opposed to meteorological Fall which begins Sept 1.), and we're going to reach a steamy 84 degrees in Cleveland. But what's normal for us on the Autumn Equinox? Nothing near where we are this year. The 2000-2015 average high temperature is 71.6 degrees, and the average low temperature is 53.6 degrees. This year? We are going to reach 84 degrees, which is 17 percent warmer than average. Even our low temperature was much warmer than average, with this morning's low of 62 degrees -- over 15 percent hotter than average. Kelly Reardon, cleveland.com  Now, the Autumn Equinox changes between Sept. 22 and 23. The record high temperature for Sept. 22 is 92 degrees, set in 1895 - thankfully we're not quite there. The record high temperature for Sept. 23 is 89 degrees, set in 2010, not too far from what we're going to reach today. This is following the trend of August tying the hottest on record for Cleveland. August 2016 tied for the hottest on record for Cleveland, matching the previous record set in 1947 This hot weather is also expected to suppress the vibrant fall foliage colors we normally get to enjoy. Fall foliage prediction 2016: Less vibrant colors expected due to hot summer and heavy drought What do you think? Do you love or hate this hot weather? Keep checking cleveland.com/weather for twice daily weather updates for Northeast Ohio, and don't forget to submit any weather questions you may have! Kelly Reardon is cleveland.com's meteorologist.
