Cleveland Flea September 2016 Preview: vendors, schedule, hours, parking, food trucks (photos)
The September Cleveland Flea will have 140 vendors of thrift, vintage, food, food trucks, up-cycled and recycled furniture and home décor and much more. CLEVELAND, Ohio - Summer is winding down but plans for the September Cleveland Flea are winding up. This Saturday, The Flea brings 140 vendors of thrift, vintage, home decor, locally made jewelry, pottery, glass, clothing, furniture and so much more. In keeping with the back-to-school spirit, The Flea also will celebrate Cleveland Book Week. Sponsored by The Cleveland Foundation, it runs from Sept. 10-16. There will be booths run by local booksellers including Appletree Books, Loganberry Books, Mac's Backs and Guide to Kulchur. There will be readings every half hour by local authors including Michael W. Clune, David Giffels, Aubrey Hirsch, Dave Lucas, Ali McClain, R.A. Washington and Nikki Delamotte. The Maker Series, a compilation of vendor interviews, is available on The Flea website. This month several vendors are featured including Tricia Reddy of Coastline Bowls, Shelley and John Pippen of Brewnuts and Amy Eibel of Little Chicago Clothing Co. Cleveland Flea Details: When: Saturday, Sept. 10 Where: 3615 Superior Ave. at Tyler Village Hours: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission: A $2 donation is appreciated. This helps pay for the many employees, portable restrooms and infrastructure without transferring the rising costs to the vendors. Parking: Try a ride-share program like Uber, Lyft or carpool with friends. Neighborhood street parking is ample, and there are a few designated Flea Parking lots surrounding Tyler Village. Spaces are also available a few blocks away at Asian Town Center. RTA buses #1, #3 and #38 drop off within a block. Check The Flea website for even more details. Non-profit partnership: Graffiti Heart is a non-profit organization that promotes urban artists and art through commissioned projects featuring graffiti and street art. They will be accepting donations at their booth located just behind The Flea booth. Cash or Credit: Most Flea vendors do accept credit cards, but not all. The Flea Bar is cash only. See the link on the Cleveland Flea website for a map of local ATM's. Vendors: This month's Flea has 140 vendors including nine new vendors. There will be jewelry, industrial salvage, up-cycled and recycled decor and furniture, ceramics, vintage housewares, candles and skincare, art, photography, wood prints, bags and clothing including cool Cleveland gear. Food and Food Trucks: Everything from coffee, tea, donuts, pies, ice cream, pickles, sauces, popcorn and plenty of savory options. Food trucks include Chill Pop Shop, DonutLab, Krav Food Truck, Manna Food Truck, off the GRIDdle, Smooth Rider, LLC, SnowBros Shavery, The Proper Pig, The Spread, Wholly Frijoles and Wok N Roll. Live Music: The Belmez Stage will feature musical performances at noon and 2 p.m. The Flea Bar: Apples are the theme for this month's signature cocktails. Spiced Rum Apple Mojitos and Apple Slush cocktails will be on the menu. Flea Schedule: Oct. 8 is the last outdoor Flea for the season. The November Holiday Market is Friday, Nov. 18 through Sunday, Nov. 20 and the December Holiday Market is Friday, Dec. 9 through Sunday, Dec. 11. Both of those events are indoors.
